Company History

Business Launches (2005)

Vision: AV to Strategic Events Communications (2005–Present)
In the early years, Centrifuge Media’s focus was on delivering exceptional audiovisual solutions paired with white-glove customer service. As the company grew alongside the evolving needs of its clients, the team expanded its offerings, transitioning into a full-service Strategic Events Communications consulting agency. This evolution enabled Centrifuge Media to go beyond production, incorporating creative strategy, messaging, and audience engagement into every project. With creativity and innovation at its core, Centrifuge Media didn’t merely execute events they transformed them into powerful, unforgettable experiences that left a lasting impact.

First Event (2005)
For Centrifuge Media, the first event was an investigator meeting. Brian and the team landed the gig, packed up their gear, and got to work. Held at St. Louis Ritz Carlton, the event came with its share of challenges, but the team succeeded. It was the first of many, proving that Centrifuge Media was here to stay.

First International Trip (2005)
Centrifuge Media wasn’t just thinking local from the start, they had big international plans. In 2005, the team embarked on their first international trip, marking the beginning of a global journey. The team faced new challenges, embraced new cultures, and learned that creating impactful experiences knows no borders. That first international trip opened new doors, helping to shape Centrifuge Media’s reputation as a company that could go anywhere and deliver excellence. By the end of 2024 the company has produced meetings of all sizes in over 400 cities and 43 countries on every continent except Antarctica.

Hiring Key Staff (2006)
A great vision requires the right people to bring it to life, and from the very beginning, Centrifuge Media was dedicated to hiring passionate, talented individuals who could transform bold ideas into reality. From production professionals to creative thinkers, the team gradually took shape, each member contributing their unique skills to the company’s growth. Among the earliest hires, Will Sanders and Praise Wortham Collins became invaluable key players, and their continued contributions remain essential to the company’s success. At Centrifuge Media, it was never just about filling roles, it was about carefully selecting individuals who shared the vision and were committed to helping it flourish.

Financial Crisis (2008)
The 2008 financial crisis was a pivotal global event that impacted countless businesses, and Centrifuge Media was no exception. As the economic downturn took hold, the company faced significant challenges, with client budgets tightening and events being scaled back. Instead of retreating, the team came together, focusing on innovative ways to deliver creative solutions without compromising on quality. This period of adversity taught the team valuable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of fortifying the company’s foundation for long-term success. Through this challenging time, Centrifuge Media emerged stronger, better equipped to navigate future challenges and continue growing.

Expanding – Breaking Ground at New Office Location – ACC Boulevard (2013)
By 2013, it was clear that the team had outgrown their original space. With more projects, clients, and creative energy than ever, the move to a new office on ACC Boulevard marked a major milestone. Brian worked with the builders and decided ACC boulevard was the perfect location in the RTP area. It wasn’t just about more space, it was about growing into the next chapter, bringing the team together in a place that reflected the company’s vision. The new office became a hub of creativity, collaboration, and innovation, setting the stage for even bigger things to come.

Covid (2020-2022)
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the world in 2020, Centrifuge Media faced an unprecedented challenge. Within weeks, events were canceled, travel was restricted, and the future was uncertain. Having navigated adversity before, we understood the importance of swift and strategic action.
Through extensive research, education, and training, we rapidly became experts in virtual events, enabling us to provide innovative and seamless solutions for our clients. This quick pivot not only ensured business continuity but also expanded our creative capabilities, elevating the experiences we deliver. By embracing change, we strengthened our commitment to innovation and continued driving success for our clients in a rapidly evolving landscape.

“Staying the Course” (2020-2023)
Throughout the challenges of COVID-19, Centrifuge Media remained focused. The owners were determined to avoid furloughs or layoffs, ensuring the team stayed intact and strong. The years following 2020 became a time where “staying the course” became the guiding principle, helping the team steadily navigate the road back to where the company had been before the pandemic. With a focus on working closely with clients and their adjusted budgets, Centrifuge Media continued to create engaging, memorable experiences that offered much-needed networking opportunities and connection for companies eager to reconnect in a world still navigating change.

(S•P•E•E•C) Speaker Performance Enhancement and Executive Coaching – Launches (2021)
In 2021, Centrifuge Media elevated its speaker coaching services with the launch of S•P•E•E•C—our Speaker Performance Enhancement and Executive Coaching Workshops. Through our years of working with thousands of presenters, we wanted to further enhance the speaker coaching services we provided to our clients. Having recognized that effective communication is essential to the success of any event or presentation, the team expanded our services to help clients refine their messaging and enhance their executive and speaker presence. SPEEC provides a structured class setting around coaching principles which are reinforced through facilitating collaborative workshops.
Through the personalized coaching, we work closely with executives and speakers to sharpen their delivery, clarify their messaging, and create meaningful connections with their audiences. This initiative reinforces Centrifuge Media’s commitment to delivering not only exceptional event logistics and creative solutions but also ensuring that the human element—communication—is executed with precision, impact and meaning.

“Experience Excellence” – Tagline Created (2021)
In 2021, Centrifuge Media introduced the tagline, “Experience Excellence,” which quickly became a cornerstone of our brand. More than just a phrase, it told a story that embodies our commitment to excellence across all dimensions of our work. It’s an invitation to immerse yourself in a world where excellence isn’t just promised – it is felt, seen, and experienced firsthand. Whether at an in-person event or through every interaction with our brand, “Experience Excellence” is about engaging with the spirit of what we do.

Rising from the Pheonix (2024)
In 2024, Centrifuge Media and the life sciences industry began to see the return of large-scale events reminiscent to 2019 and early 2020s – but with even greater innovation. Strengthened by the trust and enduring relationships built with clients over the years, our team was able to deliver more dynamic and impactful experiences. With a focus on pushing creative boundaries and introducing fresh, cutting-edge concepts, we ensured that each event was more engaging, memorable and uniquely tailored than ever before.

Strategic Event Communications Agency (2018-Present)
As the team’s initial focus on creative and innovative event production evolved and with a deeper commitment to becoming a strategic event communications consulting agency, Centrifuge Media began tackling projects that went above and beyond traditional event production. From guiding clients through complex messaging to crafting immersive, multi-platform experiences, the company positioned itself as a trusted partner in delivering impactful, purpose-driven events. As they entered new markets, the vision that started it all was more relevant and ambitious than ever. Centrifuge Media was driving the team to not only meet client expectations but redefine what a strategic event looked like.

The Future (2025 and beyond)
As Centrifuge Media celebrates its 20-year milestone, we take this opportunity to reflect on our achievements while looking ahead to even greater possibilities for our clients.
