New Tech for Life Sciences Events: InfoComm 2025 Takeaways

As a Strategic Event Communications agency our mission is simple: empower our clients to inspire and motivate their audience to make a commitment to lasting behavior change. That’s why we sent two of our Project Managers to InfoComm 2025 in Orlando. Tanner Highland and Fausto Turro set out to scout new tech for life sciences events and bring back key takeaways and fresh ways to elevate the audience and learner experience.

We caught up with Project Manager Tanner Highland post-InfoComm 2025 to get his thoughts, and spoiler alert, the future looks sharper, smarter, and more immersive than ever.

“InfoComm is definitely focused more toward companies looking to purchase new technology,” Tanner shared, “but it is very cool to see what is potentially coming to the rental market in the upcoming years and checking out some smaller items that would be good fits for our inventory.”

That’s where we come in. We bridge the gap between shiny new tech and real, strategic use – turning AV trends into tools for behavior change at your life sciences events.

LED walls are leveling up from 3.5mm pixel pitch down to sub-1.0mm, LED walls are getting tighter and brighter. Tanner noticed tons of manufacturers showcasing ultra-high-resolution displays, meaning we can now create stunning visuals in tighter spaces, perfect for medical training, scientific storytelling, or compliance education.

“Lower pixel pitches bring shorter view distances and higher quality images,” he explained. “But they also demand more from your content strategy, processing, and show flow.”

Translation: AV can’t be an afterthought. If you want the wow-factor, you need the planning to back it up.

A keynote titled “2030 Vision: The Future of AV” featured President & CEO from Shure, Christine Schyvinck, and Chief Executive Officer DiversifiedEric Hutto, Plus VPs from Crestron and TELUS and AVIXA, influential execs all talking about how AV over IP and AI are transforming event infrastructure.

“We have been using protocols such as NDI and Dante for many years,” said Tanner, “but it is very clear that a main focus of every manufacture is the ability to have equipment connected and controlled over IP.”

On AI, Tanner shared “It seems like everyone is trying to find the best applications for AI in the AV industry.” He expanded, “One of the presenters compared people’s thoughts and hesitation about AI to the internet 20 years ago. There was a lot of hesitation about the internet and how it would affect the AV industry at that time and now it has a part in everything in the industry.” Highland reflected, “The point was that AI is in the very infancy of it being in the industry and that there is going to be some implementation that isn’t the greatest but as people continue to learn it and find better application that it will most likely be a large part of the AV industry in a decade from now.”

For life sciences clients, this means more efficient setups, smarter interactivity, and content that can adapt in real time. It is especially powerful for high-stakes learning environments.

Projection Mapping

Magic Projection mapping stole the spotlight this year and it caught Tanner’s attention. “It was everywhere,” he said. “I think it’s something we haven’t fully tapped into yet, and it’s a fresh, exciting way to present messaging.”

This could be a game-changer for biotech or pharma brands looking to get creative with storytelling and data visualization. Think: a room that shifts and responds as the narrative unfolds.

The Shure ANX4. This rack unit supports up to 24 wireless channels in the same space our current 4-channel setup occupies. “It’s especially great for international shows,” Tanner noted. “Less gear to ship, more flexibility onsite.” And with channel licenses that can be transferred between units, this is scalable audio with serious global appeal.

Tanner and the team are reviewing new software, logistics partners, and gear vendors they met at the show. But more importantly, we’re asking:

How do we take these AV trends and make them meaningful for your audiences?

Whether it’s LED precision, projection-mapped immersion, or AI-enhanced learning, we’re ready to help our life sciences partners educate, engage, and energize their people.

Let’s talk about your next event. We’ll bring the strategy, the tech, and the storytelling to drive behavior change.
