Cynthia Kruse recently joined Centrifuge Media as the newest Account Manager! We asked Cynthia a few questions after giving her some time to settle into her role!

Q:

What was your path to Centrifuge Media?

A:

My husband and I made the decision to move back to the East Coast, from California, in early 2022. When we decided on Raleigh specifically, I began looking at event/media production companies and came across Centrifuge on LinkedIn. There was an opening for an Account Manager position, which seemed like a great opportunity to build upon a lot of my past experiences as well as a great new challenge.

Q:

What are you most looking forward to in your role?

A:

In my past roles, I’ve been heavily involved with managing – sometimes even creating – the content of meetings and events and less involved with that “behind the scenes” process of what it takes to make it all happen, like in terms of making sure you have all the necessary AV equipment and how to diagram rooms, what you need in terms of labor/techs, etc. This role will give me the opportunity to really learn the ins and outs of those aspects of live events and thus, provide me with more of a well-rounded understanding.

Q:

What has kept you in the events industry throughout your career?

A:

I enjoy managing logistics and am a planner at heart. And since no two events are the same, there’s always a new challenge or something to learn… never a dull moment, ya know? Plus, it’s cool to watch your planning and hard work come together.

Q:

You can offer a client one piece of advice when you start planning a meeting. What is it?

A:

Think about what you want your biggest takeaway to be for your attendees, what you’re trying to achieve, and what the most important elements (for/at the meeting) are to support that. For example, does there need to be a lot of inspiring videos, do you want a fun stage design, do you need your attendees to be able to interact, etc.

Q:

When you aren’t managing accounts, what do you like to do in your free time?

A:

My husband and I are big travelers and try to experience new places as much as possible. We also just bought a house, so a lot of my free time now is spent thinking about renovations, decorating, and working on projects around the house. I also enjoy hiking/spending time outdoors with my husband and dog, and going to sporting events, concerts, and new restaurants. We’re excited to explore what all Raleigh has to offer a bit more!

Q:

Coffee or Tea?

A:

Coffee 9 times out of 10, but I also love the occasional chai tea. 😊
